 Dear Parents:

The Pride Bn has been assigned to attend the Ingersoll Scout Reservation from July 18th to July 23rd. I hope that your Cadet will be able to attend the leadership camp with us because the Ingersoll Leadership Summer Camp is a special place, where excitement fills the day, new skills are learned, and new friends are made. Each Cadet must bring with him the Ingersoll Health record form completed and signed by his/her physician and parent. Cadets must also have an Ingersoll Leadership Camp permission slip filled out. Further, I would like to have a current copy of each Cadet’s insurance card. No Cadet will be allowed to participate in the Ingersoll Leadership Summer Camp without these forms. Copies of these forms will be uploaded as soon as the Camp has them available on their site.

If you are interested, each Cadet may participate in COPE (Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience). Each COPE participant must bring to camp a completed medical information form, a release agreement, and a pair of long pants in order to participate in this activity (which the Cadets already have Digital MARPAT uniforms).

The following is a suggested list of equipment that will make your Cadet’s stay at Ingersoll Scout Reservation more enjoyable.

➟ Digital MARPAT x 4 ➟ Pack or duffel bag ➟ Cadet handbook ➟ PT gear Shorts and Sweatpants and Sweatshirts➟ Pajamas ➟ Personal hygiene gear ➟ Green tee shirts x 7 ➟ Personal first aid kit ➟ Socks (at least five pairs Black) ➟ Towels (at least two) ➟ Ground clothe ➟ Long trousers (aquatics – swim shorts (males) – full body bathing suit for ladies) ➟ Hat or cap ➟ Paper, pencils, and pens ➟ Button-up shirt (aquatics) ➟ Sunglasses ➟ Sweater or sweatshirt ➟ Underwear (at least 7) ➟ Old shoes (can get wet) ➟ Sleeping gear ➟ Regular tee shirts ➟ Chap stick ➟ Heavy shoes or boots ➟ Swimming suit ➟ Sun block ➟ Sneakers or moccasins ➟ Wristwatch ➟ Gortex and or poncho ➟ Dining gear ➟Foot powder ➟ Bible or prayer book ➟ Camera ➟ Canteen or water bottle ➟ Compass ➟ Spending money ($25-35) ➟ Light jacket ➟ Sewing kit ➟ Insect Repellent (DEET & Permethrin)

Leadership: We have a need at least one female chaperone for the camp.  If you are willing to volunteer and be on standby just in case please contact me ASAP. Experience has shown that the more adult participation, the better the summer camp experience for all our Cadets. Please let me know if you would be willing to serve at camp so that we can provide the best possible camp experience for the PRIDE CADETS.

Best Regards,

SgtMaj Nazario, José R.
