Qualifications for COLA Leadership Billets

Director of COLA: Must be the Pride Bn Commander. Member of the Drill Team Varsity Team every year. Member of the Varsity Color Guard.

Billet (Job) Description:

Responsible for the development, implementation, and supervision of the COLA curriculum to meet the needs of the ITW David Speer Academy Leadership Program.

Responsible for hiring the best qualified Cadets to instruct the incoming Candidates for School year 2019 to 2020.

Responsible for Scheduling applicant interview dates and be a member of COLA interview board  for the purpose of  hiring  Cadets qualified for Leadership positions in COLA.

Develop the curriculum for the COLA instructors Seminar and the date for the seminar.

Responsible for the morale, good order and discipline of the Academy.

Responsible for the graduation Ceremony events and invitations to VIPs.

Assistant Director of COLA: Must be the Pride Bn Executive Officer.Member of the Drill Team Varsity Team every year. Member of the Varsity Color Guard.

Senior Enlisted Advisor of COLA: Must be the Pride Bn Sergeant Major. Member of the Drill Team Varsity Team every year. Member of the Varsity Color Guard.

Billet (Job) Description:

Responsible for the daily supervision and training of all Cadet Instructors.

Responsible for all Customs and Courtesies training and all Drill and Ceremonies training.

Responsible in assisting the development, implementation, and supervision of the COLA curriculum to meet the needs of the ITW David Speer Academy Leadership Program.

Responsible in assisting for hiring the best qualified Cadets to instruct the incoming Candidates for School year 2019 to 2020.

Responsible in assisting for Scheduling applicant interview dates and be a member of COLA interview board  for the purpose of  hiring  Cadets qualified for Leadership positions in COLA.

Assisting in the Curriculum Development and for the COLA instructors Seminar and the date for the seminar.

Chief Cadet Drill Instructor: 

EXPERIENCE: Must have served as a Senior Cadet Instructor, Cadet Instructor.

STEM / ATHLETIC TEAM EXPERIENCE: Varsity Drill Team / Color Guard / YPFT /

LEADERSHIP BILLETS: Squad Leader / PltSgt / Company 1stSgt /

ACADEMICS: 3.0 and above

CONDUCT: No more than 2 Detentions per semester.

COMMUNITY SERVICE: 100 Community Service Hours

Billet (Job) Description:

Responsible for the supervision and daily mentoring and training of the Senior Cadet Drill Instructors.

Must be able to lead Cadets in the Daily 16 and execute all exercises in a satisfactory manner. 

Must be able to teach all Drill movements; being a member of the Varsity Drill team is a must to have. (not a disqualifying factor)

Must be able to teach classes in the classroom.

Knowledgeable about all regulations of uniforms, grooming standards, knowledge, and Customs and Courtesies.

Must exceed the minimum standards for grooming and bearing at all times.

Must Evaluate and counsel the Senior Cadet Drill Instructors weekly and turn in the report to the Cadet Sergeant Major for approval and action.

Assist the Cadet Sergeant Major in all Drill and Ceremonies events.

EXPERIENCE: Must have served as a Cadet Instructor.

ACADEMICS: 3.0 and above

CONDUCT: No more than 2 Detentions per semester.

COMMUNITY SERVICE: 100 Community Service Hours

ACADEMICS: 3.0 and above

CONDUCT: No more than 2 Detentions per semester.

Billet (Job) Description:

Must be able to lead Cadets/Candidates in the Daily 16 and execute all exercises in a satisfactory manner. 

Must be able to teach all Drill movements; being a member of the Varsity Drill team is a must to have. (not a disqualifying factor)

Must be able to teach classes in the classroom.

Knowledgeable about all regulations of uniforms, grooming standards, knowledge, and Customs and Courtesies.

Must exceed the minimum standards for grooming and bearing at all times.

Must Evaluate and counsel the Candidates weekly and turn in the report to the Senior Cadet Drill Instructor for approval and action.

Assist the Senior Cadet Drill Instructor in all Drill and Ceremonies events.

Administrative Department:

EXPERIENCE: Must have served at least six months in the Battalion S-1 shop. / Have skills in Microsoft word, Microsoft Excel, Google Docs, Data Entry, Data Analysis, Record keeping, Promotion and Awards requirements and management of any other tasks assigned. Have the ability to learn new processes and initiate actions to improve the administrative process.

STEM / ATHLETIC TEAM EXPERIENCE: Varsity Drill Team / Color Guard / YPFT / at least one year.

LEADERSHIP BILLETS: Squad Leader / PltSgt /

ACADEMICS: 3.0 and above

CONDUCT: No more than 2 Detentions per semester.

COMMUNITY SERVICE: 100 Community Service Hours

Responsible for the records keeping and all administrative requirements for registration and successful reporting of all performance in the Leadership Academy.

Responsible for graduation certificates, promotion warrants, and awards certificates during the Leadership Academy.

Develop the graduation script and assist in the protocol for seating of VIP for COLA graduation.

Perform any other tasks assigned by the Director of COLA.

Physical Fitness Department:

EXPERIENCE: Must have served at least six months in the Battalion S-3 shop and or been a member of the YPFT team. / Able to lead a group in warmups for PT, able to teach Physical Fitness, lead a group by example in all aspects of PT. Must have a full understanding of all the physical fitness tests and able to put a Physical Fitness training program for the school year and also for the Summer COLA program. Must have all the daily sixteen warmups and exercises memorized and lead the Pride Bn in PT sessions.

STEM / ATHLETIC TEAM EXPERIENCE: Varsity Drill Team / Color Guard / YPFT / at least one year.

LEADERSHIP BILLETS: Squad Leader / PltSgt /

ACADEMICS: 3.0 and above

CONDUCT: No more than 2 Detentions per semester.

COMMUNITY SERVICE: 100 Community Service Hours

Leadership Reaction Course Department:

EXPERIENCE: Must have served at least six months in the Battalion S-3 shop and or been a member of the YPFT team. / Have skills in Techniques of Military Instructions, have been an LRC Instructor or Assistant Instructor. Able to coordinate with the Bn S-3 and other departments for training. Able to manage a group of Cadets and do it in an organized manner to convey the lesson’s goals of the Leadership Reaction Courses.

STEM / ATHLETIC TEAM EXPERIENCE: Varsity Drill Team / Color Guard / YPFT / at least one year.

LEADERSHIP BILLETS: Squad Leader / PltSgt /

ACADEMICS: 3.0 and above

CONDUCT: No more than 2 Detentions per semester.

COMMUNITY SERVICE: 100 Community Service Hours

Logistics, Supply, and Warehouse Management Department:

EXPERIENCE: Must have served at least six months in the Battalion S-4 shop and or been a member of the a STEM/Athletics team and YPFT team. / Have skills in Techniques of Military Instructions, have been an member of the logistics team in good standing.  Able to coordinate with the Bn S-3 and other departments for training and logistics requirements for COLA. Able to manage a group of Cadets and do it in an organized manner to convey the lesson’s goals of the Logistics team.

STEM / ATHLETIC TEAM EXPERIENCE: Varsity Drill Team / Color Guard / YPFT / STEM – Athletics at least one year.

LEADERSHIP BILLETS: Squad Leader / PltSgt / Logistics Team billets

ACADEMICS: 3.0 and above

CONDUCT: No more than 2 Detentions per semester.

COMMUNITY SERVICE: 100 Community Service Hours
